Succeeding to his father in 2005, Aurlien Verdet tirelessly carries on the Domaine legacy and chiselled pure wines. The Domaine now comprises holdings in the Hautes Ctes de Nuits, Vosne Romane villages, 1er Cru Beaux Monts, 1er Cru Nuits Damodes and Boudots. Aurlien’s passion for his vines, which are all meticulously tended to produce the highest quality fruit, translates to a very low intervention approach in the cellar. His wines are a pure joy to discover and to cellar.

Bursting from the glass with notes of sweet berries, petals, peonies and raw cocoa, the 2019 Bourgogne Hautes-Ctes de Nuits Le Prieur is medium to full-bodied, velvety and charming, with lively acids, melting tannins and a succulent, spice-inflected finish. Deeper than the 2017 and more elegant than the 2018, this gets my nod as the finest Le Prieur of the three.
